In July 2012, after extensive consultation, a blueprint for the development of the centre of Christchurch was released. It envisaged a low-rise city, and identified 12 anchor projects and precincts with distinct characters and purposes. They are identified on this map, which was constantly updated as the rebuild proceeded.
