Hei tā Ngāti Porou ko te tīpao te kupu mō ngā mea ka whiua i roto i ngā tākaro maka. Kei tēnei whakaturanga tētahi tīpao hei maka kōhatu. He mea mahi ki te rākau tītoki, ka herea he aho ki runga. Ko ētahi momo o te tīpao ko te kōtaha, ko te maka (ko ēnei e rua hei tākaro mā ngā tamariki, kāpā mō te pakanga).
