Unsealed road, Whareorino Forest, 2011

Early roads in the King Country were very basic – often just dirt tracks – and the lack of roads initially hindered farm development. The region still had a lot of unsealed roads in the 21st century. This is Pomarangai Road, which runs through the Whareorino Forest, in 2011.
