Kaimai Cheese Company at Waharoa is one of a number of specialty cheese producers in the Waikato region. The building, which houses a factory, store and café, has a facade based on a typical dairy factory of the 1920s – a nod to the heritage of Waharoa. The first dairy factory there was built in 1886, and the industry became a mainstay of the town.
