Te Awamutu’s most famous sons, musicians Neil and Tim Finn, perform at a 2008 charity concert at Te Awamutu College in support of the Gracelands Trust, a Waikato organisation for disabled and disadvantaged people. The brothers, who achieved international success with the bands Split Enz and Crowded House, were born and brought up in the town and began their musical careers there.
