‘Riff Raff’

‘Riff Raff’

A statue of Riff Raff, a character from The Rocky horror show, stands on the site of the former Embassy Theatre. Richard O’Brien – the author of the cult musical, who also played Riff Raff in the film version (The Rocky horror picture show) – moved to Hamilton in 1957 and worked in a barber shop in the Embassy building. The late night, B-grade movies he saw at the theatre inspired the The Rocky horror show.
