Rangiriri trenches

Part of the Rangiriri has been preserved, and the remaining trenches and banks show how impressive the fortification was. The remains are in a historic reserve beside State Highway 1, half a kilometre north of Rangiriri township, which has a small cemetery with the graves of some of the British soldiers who died in the battle.
