Waikato Heads

Dark west coast ironsands form dunes and beaches at Waikato Heads, where the Waikato River, New Zealand’s longest river, meets the Tasman Sea. Near the heads, ironsand is mined by New Zealand Steel for its mill at Glenbrook.
