Crown Lynn tableware

Crown Lynn tableware

During the 1970s Crown Lynn was New Zealand’s largest producer of tableware. Its factory at New Lynn employed 500 people and made millions of pieces per year. But when protective tariffs were lifted in the 1980s, the company was unable to compete with cheaper, imported products. The factory closed in 1989, and Crown Lynn pottery is now keenly sought by collectors. These pieces are from the 1960s.
