Nō te tau 1914 ka oti te hangatanga i te whare o Rāhiri. Nō Te Tai Rāwhiti, nō Ngāti Porou te nuinga o ngā kaiwhakairo. Kei runga i ngā matapihi e rua, ko ngā ingoa o ‘Matatua’ me ‘Matawhaorua’. E whai hiranga ake ngā waka nei ki ngā iwi o tēnei rohe.
