Pōhoi toroa – albatross-feather ear ornament

Wero ai te tāne me te wahine i ngā puare ki te toke o te taringa, hei whakairi i ngā pōhoi me ngā kura. I te tau 1840 ka tāia e Charles Heaphy tēnei whakahua o Te Rangihaeata e mau ana i te pōhoi toroa. Kei te mau anō ia i ngā rau huia ki tōna makawe me tētahi kahu kiwi, hei tohu mō tōna mana tapu.
