Ko te Whare o te Tiriti tēnei, te nōhanga o mua o te kainoho Peretānia a James Busby (he kanohi nō te kāwanatanga Peretānia). Kei runga i te Papa o te Tiriti o Waitangi te whare e tū tonu ana i ēnei rā. He nui ngā rā motuhenga i tū ki Waitangi i ōna rā. Arā, i te tau 1834 ka whakarite a Busby i tētahi hui i waenganui i ngā rangatira kia whakatau iho i tētahi haki mō rātou. I te tau 1835 ka huia anō e ia ngā rangatira Māori (nō te Tai Tokerau te nuinga) ki te tāmoko i te Whakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tirene. I te tau 1840 ka hainatia te Tiriti o Waitangi i te 6 o Pēpuere ki Waitangi.
