Castle Rock

Castle Rock (Motutere), 8 km south-east of Coromandel town, is a distinctive feature of the Coromandel landscape. Made up of molten rock (magma) from the heart of a volcano that solidified in its neck, it has survived while the surrounding rock has eroded away.

Sorry guys, absolutely incorrect. Castle Rock (521m) is "Tokatea a Hei". Motutere is the next mountain south (532m). Almost every map in print will verify this. Certain locals who don't know their own history keep perpetuating this misconception.
