I tangohia te whakaahua nei i te tau 1953. Ko Miss R. Hōhāpata (taha matau) rāua ko Miss I. Pāwhara ēnei e tū ana i te taha o te whakapakoko i whakatūhia i te tau 1940, e whakanui ana i te ūnga o Mataatua ki Whakatāne. He uri whakaheke a Miss Hōhāpata nō Toroa te rangatira o te waka.
