The Sinclair wetlands, on the southern edge of the Taieri Plain between Lakes Waihola and Waipori, are being allowed to regenerate as a refuge for birds and fish. The wetlands have been owned by Ngāi Tahu since 1998, and are known to them as Te Nohoaka o Tukiauau.
