A vision of Hobbiton

Image
A vision of Hobbiton

The grassy rolling hills of Matamata, in the Waikato region, provided the setting for the Middle Earth village of Hobbiton in Peter Jackson’s The lord of the rings. Although on the opposite side of the world to rural England, where J. R. R. Tolkien visualised Hobbiton, this view has the look of the lush farmland where hobbits had prospered for generations.
