James Cook: bicentenary parade

The bicentenary of explorer James Cook’s first landfall in New Zealand, at Poverty Bay on 8 October 1769, was marked by big celebrations in Gisborne. The events included a parade, which featured on the cover of this souvenir issue of the Gisborne Photo News.
