Te Ture mō te Whakanoho i te Hunga Mārie (The New Zealand Settlements Act) o 1863

Nō te marama o Tīhema 1863 whakamanatia ai te ture nei, e whakamana ana i te raupatu whenua - mō te kore paremata – mai i ngā iwi o Te Ika a Māui ‘e whakakeke ana ki te mana o te Kuini Roera’.  Nā tēnei ture, i riro ngā whenua o Te Āti Awa kei Taranaki. Ko te taitara ririki o te ture ko ‘Te Whakanoho ki Niu Tīreni’, e tohu ana ki te hiahia kia whakanōhia ngā tāngata whai ki runga i ngā whenua, heoi, ko tōna tino aronga, ko te raupatu whenua.
