Ko Hawaiki te takenga o te koiora me te okiokinga o te hunga mate. Hoki ai ngā wairua ki te wāhi tūrangahakoa nei. Ko Miki Apiti te kaikōrero i tēnei ataata, e poroporoaki ana i ngā wairua ka hoki ki Hawaiki.
‘E rau rangatira mā, tēnā koutou katoa. Ki a rātou mā kua whetūrangitia hoki atu ki Hawaiki nui, Hawaiki roa, Hawaiki pāmamao. Arā, ko tātou tēnei te kanohi ora, kia ora rā.’
