Rotokare Scenic Reserve

Rotokare Scenic Reserve

Containing one of the few natural lakes in the region, 230-hectare Rotokare Scenic Reserve was surrounded by a pest-proof fence in 2007. Restoration of the native plants, insects and birds formerly found in the area is under way. A 4-kilometre walk follows the lake edge from the road end and picnic area.
