Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce (1 o 2)

Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce

By the late 1860s, as this advertisement in the Taranaki Herald in 1869 shows, the typography and imagery of newspaper advertisements had become more complex. Simple illustrations had appeared, and there was a range of sizes and styles of typeface. It also shows the beginnings of branding, with Lea and Perrins proclaiming the distinctiveness of their sauce.
