Japanese tourist brochure

This 1971 brochure, printed in Japanese, features an image of Milford Sound and a road map. Following the completion of the Homer Tunnel on the Milford Road in 1953 there was a major increase in the number of tourists visiting Milford Sound. From the early 1970s the tourism market began to diversify, with Asia seen as a major new market due to its proximity, growing prosperity and large population.
