Ōhingaiti ball

Ōhingaiti ball

Ōhingaiti locals not only brought Henry Rudolph’s band from Wellington to play at their winter ball in 1938, they also hoped to lure Wellingtonians to dance the night away at the ‘event of the season’. The ‘up’ train arrived from Wellington at 8.15 p.m., and the ‘down’ train left at 2.10 a.m.
