Te niupepa o Te Waka Maori

I tū a Rapata Wahawaha i te niupepa o Te Waka Māori mō ngā momo tākaro, arā, ko “nga mahi a Ruhanui”. Ko Ruhanui te tohu o ngā tākaro ka mahia i roto i te hūmārire. Inā rā ngā whakamārama a Rāpata:

Ka rere ana a Whānui kua hauhaketia ngā kai; kia oti tēnā ka huri ki ngā mahi a Ruhanui. Anei ngā momo mahi a Ruhanui: he hākari ki te whakanui i te hauhake i ngā māra kumara; he koha taonga, kai hoki, he kai, he haka, he poi, he rewa manu tukutuku, he pōtaka, he pōtēteke, he mamau, he mū, he mahi whai, he pānokonoko, he rōria, he papaki, he pākuru, he tārere, he kūī, he kurapakara, he tārere i runga i te moari, me ētahi atu tākaro.
