Ko Tawhirimatea tēnei, atua o ngā hau me te āhuarangi. Ko te Rā tērā kei te taha mauī, ko te Marama kei te taha matau. Ko te wehenga o Rangi rāua ko Papa kei te taha matau ki runga. E hāngai ana ngā ngaru me ngā pītau ki a Tangaroa rāua ko Tāne, ngā teina, tuakana a Tawhirimatea.
