Ferrymead Heritage Park

Ferrymead Heritage Park

The Ferrymead Heritage Park is near where New Zealand's first public steam railway terminated, at a wharf on the Heathcote River, close to the Estuary. Goods were shipped in and out of Christchurch via this wharf. Appropriately, the Ferrymead Heritage Park has a vintage railway line running through it down to where the 1863 railway line finished.
