Ko ētahi petihana kei roto i te reo Pākehā me te reo Māori. Inā rā, ka kōrero te petihana 222 mō te poraka whenua i Tūranga. Nā ngā āpiha nā William Rees rāua ko Wī Pere i hoko te whenua ki te Kamupene Noho o Niu Tīreni. I te tau 1888 ka pakaru ngā pūkoro o te kamupene, ā, kāore he paku aha i hoki ki ngā mea i hoko.
