When television advertising began in New Zealand, agencies tried to produce ads that echoed British accents and values. But by 1990, when Len Potts directed and provided the voice-over for a series of Bank of New Zealand advertisements, he was consciously aiming to reflect a distinctive New Zealand identity. Here, he explains the background to that series.
