Junior doctors’ strike

Crowded waiting rooms and cancelled operations plagued the country’s public hospitals in April 2008, when trainee doctors stopped work seeking a pay rise. This TV news clip shows Dr Deborah Powell, the paid official for the doctors’ union, explaining the grounds for the strike action.
