Striking workers outside the Progressive Enterprises distribution centre in Māngere, Auckland, ask passing cars to toot their horns in support. Supermarket workers around the country went on strike in 2006 to call for a nationwide pay agreement, instead of separate agreements in different regions. After a four-week strike, their employers agreed to most of the union’s terms.
