Anti-Employment Contracts Act poster, 1991

The 1991 Employment Contracts Act allowed anyone, not just a union, to negotiate on behalf of employees. Unions regarded the Act as an attack on working conditions. This poster, produced by the Auckland branch of the journalists’ union JAGPRO, uses the graphic imagery of a romance comic to argue that workers need the protection of their union.
