Mō ētahi iwi i te rohe Taiuru, ko te pua tāwhiwhi (e mōhiotia ana hoki ki te pewa) he momo pewa ki tētahi pito ka tū, ā, he momo nōhanga te mutu, kua tauherea ki te huapae me tētahi tauhōkai taunaki. I te wā o Puanga, i whakamahia ngā pua tāwhiwhi ki te hopu kererū i tōmina ki ngā hua miro. I hunaia ngā pewa ki raro i te pūkohu, i te pukoko. Ka herea he hua maoa, he putiputi waihonga rānei ki te ki te pito o te nōhanga o te pewa, hei tōmina i te manu. Tau ana he manu, kua kumea te taura, ka mau mā ōna waewae.
