Miles Warren house, Christchurch

Miles Warren house, Christchurch

Miles Warren designed this suburban Fendalton house for his parents in 1960. Its box-like forms and gables were evocative of the colonial cottage, but its lack of eaves and punched openings through the white-painted concrete blocks showed a modern Danish influence. Each box was a main room and featured steeply pitched wooden roofs.
