Kōrero: East Coast region

On the road

On the road

A child on a pony looks around while her father has a roadside chat with a local contractor. Horses were long an indispensable part of East Coast life and the region prides itself on its horsemanship. In the 21st century there were still working horses on farms and stations, but also much recreational riding, as shown here.
