Working with the State Sector Act 1988

Social Welfare Director General John Grant (wearing glasses) is shown here at the signing of his contract as chief executive, the first under the State Sector Act 1988. With him are State Services Chief Commissioner Don Hunn (left), Deputy Chief Commissioner Margaret Bazley and Commissioner David Swallow. Hunn told reporters that in the eight years he had worked at the commission, there had never been a task like preparing the contracts, which involved the whole organisation over a lengthy period.
