Sanitation: water testing

Treatment and monitoring of public water supplies is an important public health function carried out by local government. Wellington Regional Council officers Fiona Lemmon (left) and Helen Sillers collect water samples from a bore in Lower Hutt in 1991 after a dead seagull was found in the pumping station tank.
