Hello! My name is Conny Winberg and I live in Sweden. My friend and I visited the Thames in 1987, and we stayed a few nights at this hotel. The hotel's manager at the time was Barbara Doyle and her husband. We experienced hospitality far beyond the ordinary. The couple offered a pair of bearded hitchhiking Swedes us a room at a very good price, Barbara even took us on a free tour around the Coromandel peninsula where she guided us around and told its story! We were even invited to dinner at the hotel restaurant of the couple and their generosity seemed to have no limits. The memories of the hotel and its owners have followed me over the years and many times I have told my friends about the fantastic experience that my friend and I got to experience there in 1987. I wonder if you can help me to get in touch with Barbara Doyle and her husband, so that I can personally thank them for their hospitality and the wonderful time we had during the time we stayed at this amazing hotel.
