In the 1990s and early 2000s there was a movement of city people onto rural lifestyle blocks. For such people the country represented a healthy environment and good views rather than earning a living on a family farm. This cow, on a lifestyle block near Tauranga in 2005, stepped into the role of mum when the lamb was abandoned by its mother.
