Kōrero: Market gardens and production nurseries

This crop of onions growing near Shannon, Manawatū, is being sprayed against weeds. Although Pukekohe is the onion capital of New Zealand, a number of commercial growers raise their onion crop further south in the rich loam soils of the Manawatū and Horowhenua.
