Te nui hoki o ngā hōiho me ngā kāta kei waho i te kāinga o Tāreha Te Moananui i Waiōhiki i Te Matau-a-Māui i te tekau tau atu i 1860. I taua wā, he maha noa atu ngā hōiho o ngā Māori i te rohe.
