Tikitapu and Lake Tarawera

Tikitapu and Lake Tarawera

Tikitapu (Blue Lake) lies in the foreground of this view. Mt Tarawera is at top left, with Lake Tarawera in front of it, and the Kāingaroa plateau in the distance. The lakes, mountain and plateau were all formed by recent volcanic activity.
