Tāpeka meeting house

The meeting house Tāpeka, at Waihī, is a principal house for Ngāti Tūwharetoa and its hapū (sub-tribe) Ngāti Turumākina. The three figures on the front of the house represent the three sons of paramount chief Herea Te Heuheu Tūkino, including Mananui and Iwikau, who both succeeded him.
