Eketāhuna signpost

For decades Eketāhuna was derided as a nowhere place. Recently, public perception has become more affectionate – for many, it symbolises small-town New Zealand. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games village in Melbourne, the New Zealand quarters featured a mock road sign, with the Eketāhuna signpost pointing homewards.
