Since the 1990s the rural service town of Martinborough has reinvented itself as a wine village. Many of its buildings have been gentrified – or moved from other areas – and contain eateries and speciality shops, mainly catering for tourists. The refurbished Martinborough Hotel is a symbol of this transformation.
