He Ture hei tuku i tētahi kaupapa ture whai kanohi ki te koroni o Aotearoa’. He mea whakamana e te Pāremata o Peretānia tēnei ture i te tau 1852. Nā runga i tēnei ture ka hua mai ngā porowini e ono me ōna kaunihera whakahaere. E ai ki te wāhanga tuawhitu o tēnei ture, ko te hunga tāne neke atu i te 21 tau te pakeke ka āhei ki te pōti. Ka mutu me whai whenua korehere a ia mō te 50 pāuna te wāriu, he whenua rīhi ōna rānei neke atu i te  10 pāuna te utu i te tau. Ahakoa i āhei tonu te Māori ki te pōti, ko te nuinga o ngā tāngata Māori he kaipupuri whenua maha. Nā reira he nui noa atu ngā Pākehā i pōti i te tau 1852.
