Ko te kōrero a Te Kooti ki a Ngāi Tūhoe, ‘Ka tango ahau i a koutou hei iwi mōku, ā, ko ahau hei Atua mō koutou’. Ka piripono a Tūhoe ki a Te Kooti i roto i te wā o te ora me te pōuri.
