This plate comes from Fragments of New Zealand entomology by George Hudson, published in Wellington in 1951. It shows species of native moth. While not as colourful as many butterflies, moths have unusual markings. The two specimens at the bottom (10 and 10a) are Ichneutica ceraunias (male on the right, female on the left), collected from the Homer Tunnel area on the Milford Road. They display distinctive, prong-like markings on their wings.
