Funeral procession at Karangahake

Funeral procession at Karangahake

The mining township of Karangahake was in its heyday when this funeral took place, about 1907. The commercial buildings lining the road, now State Highway 2, are long gone, although a number of private houses remain on the higher ground on the left.
