‘Each must decide’

This painting by Tony Fomison (1939–1990) was acquired for the Manawatū Art Gallery in 1976 by its director, Luit Bieringa. Among many initiatives taken by Bieringa was the curation and subsequent acquisition of the large and comprehensive group of photographs presented in ‘The active eye’ exhibition in May 1975.
