New Zealand orders, decorations, medals and awards

This poster produced by the New Zealand Defence Force shows the New Zealand orders, decorations, medals and awards. An indigenous New Zealand honours system was instituted over a period of 24 years. In 1975 New Zealand state honours – the panel at the top of the posters – replaced some British state honours. The New Zealand gallantry and bravery awards – the middle panel – which military personnel were eligible for, were instituted in 1999.
